5 Alternative Ingredients For A Traditional Banana Bread
Struggling to find the basics needed to bake a banana bread? If you are anything like our onsite baker Bryony, then you are finding it hard to find flour in your local shops. The MRP Group have been discussing the alternative ingredients you could use in the recipe. Below are some alternative ingredients that you may have in your cupboard, that can be used to make an unconventional, but equally as yummy banana bread.
Oats – Cannot find flour in your local shop? Do you have some oats lying around in your cupboards? Then why not blend them down to make oat flour. This makes an ideal, gluten-free and vegan alternative to normal flour.
Chocolate – Are your bananas not ripe enough to use? Why not make use to your left-over Easter eggs. Break up the chocolate into your mixture, and you have a delicious ‘chocolate bread’. A sweeter alternative to banana.
Peanut Butter – This is a classic thing for someone to have in their cupboards – even better if it’s the crunchy type! Blend a couple of spoonsful into the mixture and you have a unique banana and peanut butter bread!
Coconut Oil – Eggs are also proving difficult to get hold off. Why not make an eggless banana bread? Add in some coconut oil to create the ideal texture for an eggless cake.
Raisins – Why not mix up the traditional banana bread and make use of raisins? Adding these into the ingredients instead of banana will create a yummy raisin bread, with less hassle than trying to get your hands on bananas!
